Camp Kitchen Setup That Cleans Itself

James HerrinJames Herrin·1 min read·

Dishes at camp are the chore nobody wants after a long day. A smart kitchen setup means you cook, eat, and pack with almost nothing to wash.

Design the cleanup out of the meal.

  • Cook and eat from one pot to avoid extra dishes
  • Use a long spoon so food never touches your fingers
  • Boil water and scrape, never soap a pristine stream
  • Pack a tiny scraper instead of a sponge

With one pot and a scraper, cleanup is a rinse and a wipe. Leave the stream clean and yourself with ten more minutes by the fire.

A tiny bottle of camp soap handles the rare greasy pot without polluting the stream. Lather away from the water and pack the soap back out.
